Overview of Camille Dardanes Dotson

Camille Dardanes Dotson’s life looked very different at the time of her disappearance, than it did a decade or so prior. Camille was born on February 23, 1964, and was raised in an upper middle class family in Chicago. At age 21, Camille became captivated by Gary Dotson — a man who was wrongfully incarcerated for rape in 1975. After his alleged victim recanted the story and proclaimed his innocence, he was released and, the two began dating and then married, upon his release. Gary and Camille would have one child together, a daughter, named Ashley. Things were good for a time, but Gary was a heavy drinker and would often become abusive when drunk. Eventually, the couple ran out of money and Camille filed for separation and took Ashley with her to Las Vegas. Without a higher education or work experience, Camille began bartending, then dancing and sex work within the club and bar scene in Vegas, in order to support her daughter.

Camille later met and married man named George "Cruz" Diaz Jr. Not long into their relationship, George became abusive towards Camille. Camille sent seven-year-old Ashley home to live with her grandmother (Camille’s mother), Barbara. Unbeknownst to Barbara and Ashley, this was the last time they would ever see Camille. Around this time Camille began using drugs and was a known crack cocaine user. It has also been verified that she worked at the Crazy Horse on the corner of Paradise & Flamingo, and Crazy Horse Too on Sahara & Industrial at the time of her disappearance.

Based on an arrest record and a court date for which Camille failed to show up, Las Vegas police estimate that she went missing between the dates of September 3- 26, 1994. However, friends report not having seen her for months prior that to that. Camille was last seen leaving the Clark County Detention Center in Las Vegas, Nevada on September 3, 1994.

Camille was reported missing in either 1994 or 1995, but the report was deleted only weeks after her disappearance. A new report was filed in 2003 when a childhood friend called the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police department to inquire about Camille's case. Camille had a misdemeanor warrant out for her arrest at the time she went missing. Her loved ones say it is uncharacteristic of her to leave without warning, and she is considered to be endangered.

Camille is a white woman with brown hair and brown/hazel eyes. She is 5’7 and weighed between 125-145lbs at the time of her disappearance. Her teeth were slightly discolored due to smoking and drug use, and her nose was recently broken. She had a tattoo of the name “Cruz” on her right hip. She smoked Marlboro cigarettes. Camille Dardanes Dotson may have used the first names “Nicole,” “Renee,” or “Kim,” and the last names “Clarke” or “Diaz.” She was 30 years old when she disappeared and would be 55 today.
